More light with less power, the City of Munster (Germany) was able to achieve this with the help of the latest state of the art lighting technology which will help them reduce 140 Ton of C02

Due to their latest energy saving project, The City of Munster will be able to save approximately 250,000 Kilowatt-hour of energy and with that, 140 ton of C02 per year. Their goal is to achieve this by installing 980 new LED fixtures. Where?  For starters in parking garages “Bahnhofstraße” and “Bremer Platz”. These new fixtures are replacing the high energy consuming Fluorescent tubes like T8 and T12. The companies who are working together on this in order to achieve these goals are WBI and Rentalite a Dutch technology institution from Enschede, the Netherlands.

“Our expectations are high” according to Dr. Henning Müller-Tengelmann, who is the commercial Director of the City of Munster and is overseeing this highly innovative project. “Because also with this project we have the intention to score  high energy saving numbers”

Rentalite’s LED fixtures will replace all of the Fluorescent tubes that are currently installed in the 2 parking garages. “We are looking forward to being the first ones to utilize this new technology within the city of Munster” says Klaus Kötterheinrich, who is the director of WBI. “ these LED fixtures will increase the garage’s current light display and at the same time use 65% less energy than the current fluorescent fixtures” the LEDs are configured to last at least 60,000 hours.

The substantial savings in combination with the nice uniform lightdisplay convinced the city of Munster and WBI to choose the Dutch company Rentalite as it’s partner in this project after extensive testing. “ We would like to thank the city of Munster and WBI for the trust they have place in us, and we are looking forward to the newly established international business relationship between Rentalite and the city of Munster” says Mr. Herbert Silderhuis, Managing director of Rentalite.
